Have you ever wanted to know all related permissions of a specific group across an entire site collection? There is an easy way to do that in SharePoint, that sometimes goes unnoticed.
When logged in with enough permissions:
- On the Site Actions menu, click Site settings.
- Click People and groups, under the Users and Permissions column.
- On the sidebar, some groups should be listed. If not, click on Groups and then click on the name of a group.
- In the taskbar on the group's page, click on Settings and then View Group Permissions.
A dialog will pop up with all the permission assignments that the specific group has in the site collection.
Unfortunately there isn't a similar way of checking the same thing for a single user.
